The background and inspiration
There has been a global upsurge of demand for coaching, especially in the business world in the last few years and this trend will continue as the need for human connections and creating human-centered organizations continue to grow. According to ICF Global, coaching is one of the fastest growing industries. The estimated market size of coaching is expected to reach $20 billion USD by 2022, a testament that more organizations and individuals are using coaching services.
Alongside this upsurge, there has been a growing quest for metrics to measure coaching impact and return on investment (ROI). This is because coaching does not come cheap and therefore organizations that invest in coaching want to reap a worthwhile return on Investment (RoI).
Some of the critical questions have been:
- Are the leaders coaching and if yes to what extent? What’s their level of effectiveness?
- How well are the leaders living out the coaching philosophy and role modelling this to their teams?
- What’s the impact of coaching to businesses – engagement, productivity, profitability, leadership bench, etc.?
- How well has an organization embraced and embedded coaching? How well is coaching entrenched as a leadership culture?
- How can leaders and organizations identify the priority developmental gaps to address in order to scale the level of coaching and leadership?
- How can leaders multiply themselves more through coaching? Leaders who have embraced coaching as a leadership style would also like to know how well they are aligned to the coaching philosophy, as well as how to keep growing and deepening their coaching impact.
Alongside this upsurge, there has been a growing quest for metrics to measure coaching impact and return on investment (ROI). This is because coaching does not come cheap and therefore organizations that invest in coaching want to reap a worthwhile return on Investment (RoI).
WHAT IS THE
GLOBAL COACHING INDEX (GCI) SYSTEM?
The GCI System is a revolutionary ecosystem that encompasses three proprietary assessment tools and an ICF-Accredited practitioner training program. Both the assessment tool and the practitioner program are based on the coaching competency framework for leaders (developed by Eileen Laskar in 2020). The aforementioned coaching competency framework for leaders is primarily derived and anchored on the ICF Coaching Competency Model (2019).
